After a few weeks of use of my Sony Alpha 7s MarkI (the original 7s) and a bit of experimenting with picture profiles, I decided to create a custom picture profile that matches the iPhone 11 that we use for filming sometimes if our documentary work. The iPhone look was always warmer and crispier, despite the better resolution and quality of the A7s, so I decided to spend a bit of time trying to match the two.
I am not that expert of the color science of Sony cameras and I had to make a long research on the internet to found enough information to be able to tweek the camera profile to reach that point and I have to thank several experts I found online for sharing their knowledge with us.
Than I found Alister Chapman Alister Chapman, a great source of very valuable information about the A7s.
So I developed my PP1 starting from some things I learned and this is it:

PP1 Custom MAX CAROLA (iPhone 11 match)
Black Level: +10
Black gamma: Middle; 0
Color Mode: ITU709 Matrix
Color phase: 0
The footage is quite usable without much grading but a bit of optimization helps to make it shine.
I hope you’ll find that useful. Please leave me a comment if you find it helpful.
